CLOUDY SUN DAY
-All the way from uptown,
Leningrad grey,
three-for-a-quarter cheap…
-The sidewalk slaps you
every other block,
off-season gods watch,
perched on their rainbows…
-At last, the sun!
Ah, nothing like it,
a granite lion,
steps to sit on,
a fifty-cent hot-dog
& a Nedick’s orangeade…
-The non-native feels rested.
