INTELLECTUAL ENCOUNTER
(’95) I’m revising around 1,200 poems I’ve written
since ’69 & hopefully I’ll have my very first book
of poems, mixed with art, at the first opportunity.
If you have a favorite or two… or a few, let me
know & I’ll include them. (I know one Kellianne
Parker likes!) – Gracias…

– Pencil meets blank page,,,
Pencil scribbles a few words,
waits from reaction from Page ///
– Pencil feels bolder,
writes a line, then another,,,
nothing can stop Pencil now…
writes this, writes that ///
– Page begins to feel used,
shouts: “Hold it, Pencil!
You’re all over me…
what do I get out of this?”
– “Why, Page, we work together,
I show you & you show the world,,,
I’m the vehicle, you’re the highway,
I’m the wave, you’re the shore!”
– Page thinks about it…
“You know,” says Page, “I guess
some of us are born to pencil,
& others are born to page.”
