Luís Campos
Poet/humorist Luís Campos was born to write. At the age of 13 he edited, published, and distributed EL Fuego in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. This humorous daily included neighborhood/city gossip, funny stories, etc. In 1948, Luís emigrated to the U.S. and eventually settled in Los Angeles, California.

– The words were old,
the paper new,
green, soft,
almost as if the ink
still had to dry
with the smell of
upturned cemetery earth.
– The day was almost over,
the chill of winter
had settled in,,,
– Nothing made sense,
the sun had its reason///
the moon, obviously,
knew what was going on…
– Now it was up to Lady Fate,
in her mysterious way,
to write the ending.
