SAME OLD
-Same old road,
same motel,
same VACANCY sign…
-Beat-up red
pick-up truck,
slim guy with
cowboy boots & hat…
-“MAMA’S” apple pie
a la mode,
genuine Navajo jewelry,
Sam’s Auto Repair…
-Buckle Up or Ticket-
-You are now leaving
Old Road Junction-
TRAFFIC LAWS STRICTLY ENFORCED
Same old translation:
SPEED TRAPS NEXT 20 MILES.

the first two lines are by author/poet

-Commit senseless violence
and acts of random cruelty,
spread fear, lie, cheat,
abuse, destroy…
-May Jeffrey Dahmer
and Charles Manson
be your dungeon mates in hell!

Harry Northup, to give me a few short lines.
The first five lines are his, the rest are
mine.

By the time I was 17
I had lived
in 17 places,
from gothic village
to trailer city.
The novels are there…
I just have to drill
deep enough
until I hit sludge.
